Slats, shelves, boxes and cupboards are all made from compact laminate. Compact laminate is made up of many layers of paper that have been impregnated with glue before being pressed together under high pressure and then laminated with a decorative layer on the top and bottom. The material is robust, durable and incredibly stable.
Note: Although HPL has a completely closed surface that can withstand almost anything, avoid placing sharp objects and candles, tea lights or other heat sources directly on the shelves.
Note: Please note that the edges of the wall elements slats are quite sharp – in contrast to the rounded edges on the shelves. This is to ensure that the load capacity of the shelves is optimum. Please also note that shelves carrying little or no weight can easily be loosened and knocked off if accidentally hit or pushed upwards from below. Avoid therefore placing furniture so close to the shelving that shelves could be knocked when you e.g. get up from a chair.
